What is Safety Clothing?
Safety clothing is one of the PPE that must be used to avoid the risk of minor or serious injury when carrying out work at a project site or in a workshop. Not only does it protect the body, but also serves as an identity for the user.
Safety clothing as body protection must be made from material that is not easily torn and of good quality. Some Wearpack Safety also has fire-resistant and water-resistant features, these features are very useful when doing work on projects or in workshops. The main purpose of safety clothing is to maintain the safety and welfare of workers, as well as reduce the risk of injuries and accidents that can occur in the workplace.
Functions of Safety Clothing
Safety Clothing has several main functions to protect workers in the workplace, such as:
- Protect the body
Safety clothing can protect the body from various risks of injury, including sparks, dangerous liquids, water resistance, sunlight, ingress of dust and fine powder.
- Increase visibility
This shirt is equipped with a reflector sticker which is used to avoid the risk of being hit by a project vehicle in a work area with minimal light.
- Safety clothing as work identity
Apart from being body protectors, this PPE can be a useful uniform for differentiating each person’s work based on the color of the safety clothing they wear. Generally, those who wear red safety clothing are K3 workers.
Safety Vest as a complement
The vest/safety vest is one of the K3/HSE PPE. Safety vest is PPE that is commonly used by workers in the field or in workshops if they are not wearing safety clothing. Safety vests are used to prevent contact/accidents. A safety vest is made from selected materials such as nylon, net, polyester, and is equipped with reflectors on several sides. Usually the colors of safety vests are yellow, orange, light green and red. This color is intended to increase visibility so that it can be seen from afar, day, night, in places with minimal light, or in heavy rain. The function of this vest is to avoid accidents due to contact with other objects, such as project vehicles operating nearby.
Safety Clothing at PT. Aldzama
Safety Clothing belonging to PT. Aldzama is equipped with a reflector sticker which is useful in places with minimal light. PT. Aldzama also has a Safety Vest as a complement to Wearpack Safety which must be worn when working in the workshop. PT safety suit. Aldzama also functions as a uniform that all workers (Office and Workshop) must wear when working. PT. Aldzama has 3 different colors of Wearpack Safety, namely:
- The yellow color that only office workers have,
- The combination of navy blue and orange that all PT workers have. Aldzama, and
- The red color is only worn by the safety team.
This safety suit can protect the body from dangerous liquids, dust entry and reduce the risk of accidents at the Aldzama workshop. In this way, PT. Aldzama will be guaranteed safety and health.
